Planning 2025 in public

It’s planning season! This is one of favourite times of the year. If you haven’t come across Carl Pullein before, I sincerely recommend that you google him and check out his stuff on annual planning — it’s fantastic.

So, one thing I learned from Carl is that you cannot effectively plan a year by sitting down on New Year’s Day and sketching out a few thoughts on what you don’t like about life and want to change.

Planning takes time.

It takes time because it requires space.

Space to think. Space to get creative. Space and time to let thoughts come to and develop.

So, we start planning our year on October 1st.

I have decided this year to plan in public. That means that as I run through my planning process for 2025 I will share it here on Medium and on some of the other platforms that I publish on.

What you will notice is that process gets a bit more intense as we head into November and December.

October is the month to be creative. October is the month when there is no pressure. During the next 31 days you have the opportunity to consider things positively and negatively. This next month provides you with time and space to ask all the questions you never normally would. What are the…
